Discover the Magic of accessorizing

The Art of Accessories: The Details Defining Modern Luxury

Fashion may begin with a silhouette, but it is the accessories that complete the story. From sculptural handbags to statement jewellery and architectural footwear, accessories have evolved far beyond finishing touches—they have become the defining elements of personal style.

For the Spring/Summer 2027 season, designers demonstrated that thoughtful accessories can transform even the most minimalist look into a powerful fashion statement. Across the runways of Paris, Milan, London and New York, craftsmanship, functionality and artistic expression took centre stage.

The Return of Sculptural Handbags

This season's handbags embraced clean lines and architectural forms, reflecting the industry's continued appreciation for quiet luxury. Structured leather totes, soft oversized carryalls and sculptural shoulder bags dominated the collections, favouring timeless design over oversized logos.

Brands including Hermès, Bottega Veneta, Loewe and The Row showcased handbags that celebrated exceptional leather craftsmanship and understated elegance, proving that true luxury lies in quality rather than excess.

Jewellery as Wearable Art

Jewellery became bolder while remaining remarkably sophisticated. Designers moved beyond traditional statement pieces, introducing sculptural earrings, oversized cuffs, layered necklaces and organic metal forms inspired by nature and modern architecture.

Gold continued to dominate the season, complemented by brushed silver finishes, freshwater pearls and hand-crafted textures that brought warmth and individuality to every look.

Rather than overwhelming an outfit, jewellery served as an extension of the garment itself, enhancing the overall silhouette through subtle artistic expression.

The Modern Shoe

Footwear embraced versatility, balancing elegance with practicality. Minimalist leather sandals, refined ballet flats, sleek loafers and sculptural heels appeared across nearly every major runway.

Meanwhile, luxury sneakers continued to evolve with cleaner silhouettes, premium materials and understated detailing, reflecting the growing demand for everyday sophistication.

Design houses such as Prada, Miu Miu, Ferragamo and Saint Laurent demonstrated that comfort and craftsmanship can coexist without compromising style.

The Rise of Statement Belts

Belts emerged as one of the season's most influential accessories. Wide leather belts defined the waist of oversized tailoring, while slim polished designs added structure to flowing dresses and lightweight outerwear.

More than simply functional pieces, belts became styling tools that transformed proportion and silhouette, reinforcing the season's focus on refined tailoring.

Eyewear Beyond Function

Sunglasses continued their evolution as essential fashion pieces rather than seasonal necessities. Oversized frames, narrow retro silhouettes and geometric shapes reflected a growing appreciation for individuality and timeless design.

Luxury brands favoured subtle sophistication, introducing eyewear that complemented complete collections rather than competing with them.

Scarves, Silk and Soft Luxury

Silk scarves returned with renewed relevance, appearing tied around handbags, draped over shoulders or styled as headpieces. Their versatility reinforced one of fashion's strongest messages this season—that true luxury often lies in thoughtful styling rather than constant consumption.

Soft cashmere wraps, lightweight shawls and handcrafted textiles also made notable appearances, adding movement and texture without overwhelming an outfit.

Craftsmanship Above All

Perhaps the most significant trend in accessories this season was the renewed emphasis on craftsmanship.

Consumers are increasingly investing in fewer, better-made pieces that transcend seasonal trends. Handmade leather goods, artisanal jewellery, carefully constructed footwear and timeless accessories are replacing fast-moving novelty items, reflecting a broader shift toward longevity and conscious luxury.

The Finishing Touch

Accessories have become far more than decorative additions. They communicate personality, elevate tailoring and transform the simplest wardrobe into something uniquely individual.

As fashion continues to embrace craftsmanship over excess, accessories remain at the heart of modern style—small details with the power to leave a lasting impression.

In today's luxury landscape, it is often the finishing touch that makes the strongest statement.
